This image was created as part of my ongoing efforts to extend my visual vocabulary from the realm of 2d design into more kinetic modes of representation. As such, I have been exploring 3d modeling software and animation techniques as a way to produce a more immersive visual experience.
Here the words “Isolation & Integration” appear suspended in time while the air is filled with translucent fragments. This is part of a larger exploration of representational idioms, where I hope to explore certain dichotomies which have become integrated in contemporary usage.
As Gyorgy Kepes states in his 1944 book, The Language of Vision:
The re-checking of the idioms of space-representation and their integration with the genuine language of the picture surface is the vital task of the contemporary artist.
